Calling on Christ Changed my Life, Minna Kang |
|
I am a Korean-American student. I graduated from California State University, Northridge as a music major. I was born in a Christian family. I don't remember when I got saved, but I remember praying genuine prayers in my early childhood. I loved the Lord but I hardly had any experience of God's life during those years. I had gone to every Sunday sermon and I even got baptized, but those experiences meant very little to me. In fact, I cannot recall having any person explain to me the significance of baptism or teach any spiritual meaning of the types and stories in the Bible. One day my parents met a group of people who later started a Bible study with them. My parents were seeking believers and when they experienced their spirit and ate the spiritual food in the Bible through the help of these people, they got excited. So my whole family began to meet with the local church. I remember the first young people's meeting that changed my life. One brother taught us that we can call on the name of the Lord Jesus (Romans 10:12-13). About twenty of us started calling, Oh, Lord Jesus until we were filled with the Spirit. Some of us were weeping. We could not explain why we were weeping, but we were filled with the appreciation of the Lord's love toward us and joy of having Jesus in our spirits. All of us really experienced the Spirit's anointing. After that experience, my whole Christian life became different. The Lord's presence has been real to me since then. So many spiritual truths became so clear and experiential to me. I can testify that I love the Lord so much and He is my life and life supply every day. His riches are unsearchable and exhaustless in the church. |
